NECBB® Presents Donation to Cord Blood Association Foundation

New England Cord Blood Bank (NECBB) is proud to announce that the company has sent the first in a series of contributions to the Cord Blood Association Foundation. NECBB has been committed to research in the scientific development of umbilical cord blood stem cell therapies since the company’s inception in 1997. This donation is part of the ongoing devotion to support medical exploration using umbilical cord blood stem cells.

NECBB Donates to Cord Blood Association Foundation

Earlier this year the company pledged that a portion of the proceeds from every domestic processing and storage enrollee will be donated in support of the research foundation’s efforts. This payment is the fulfillment of the promise. Joanne Kurtzberg, MD, President, Cord Blood Association Foundation said, “We are delighted that the New England Cord Blood Bank is supporting to the Cord Blood Association Foundation. The contributions will help advance CBA-sponsored research developing novel therapeutics using cord blood and cord tissue cells.” The CBA Foundation recently received FDA approval for Phase 2 Clinical trials for the treatment of Autism and Cerebral Palsy using umbilical cord stem cells.
