Entry to NECBB’s constantly monitored laboratory and storage area is gained only through a controlled access point to maintain the safety of your stored cells. Upon arrival, your baby’s cord blood will be logged in to our laboratory information management system. The cord blood unit is then processed from start to finish at a dedicated workstation, providing the utmost care to ensure proper isolation and labeling during processing.

Our storage containers, called dewars, can maintain their internal temperatures within one degree for up to 30 days in case of a power failure. NECBB is further protected from power outages by a redundant, on-site electric generator system.
